SUNNYVALE, Calif., Nov. 3, 2004 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (Nasdaq: JNPR) today announced that its NetScreen Remote Access 500 (RA 500) SSL VPN for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) has received SSL VPN Security Certification from ICSA Labs®, in the industry's only certification testing program for SSL VPN systems. This latest achievement complements Juniper Networks' ICSA Labs certification for its enterprise-class Secure Access SSL VPN product line.
The Juniper Networks RA 500 provides SMEs with a secure, cost-effective and easy-to-deploy solution for remote employees to access corporate networks. Built on the industry's leading SSL VPN platform - the Juniper Networks Instant Virtual Extranet (IVE) platform - the RA 500 appliances are optimized for SMEs with packaging, pricing and easy implementation tailored to this market. The RA 500 series leverages the most mature SSL VPN appliance in the industry, at a SME-oriented price starting at $4,000 USD.
The ICSA Labs SSL VPN Certification program is an independent and comprehensive process that rigorously tests, assesses and validates SSL VPNs in a simulated, real-world, internetworked environment on a continuous basis. To achieve certification, in addition to the SSL VPN Certification Criteria requirements, the SSL VPN products must also meet the requirements outlined in the Cryptography Product Certification Program. Meeting these requirements ensures that the SSL VPN products have implemented the cryptographic mechanisms correctly and that the SSL VPN products have passed ICSA Labs' rigorous cryptographic tests.
The RA 500 series complements Juniper Networks' Secure Access SSL VPN product family, which offers broad access options, high performance scalability and access granularity tailored for sophisticated intranet and extranet environments. Both product lines leverage the robust security design of the IVE platform, which includes enterprise strength authentication, authorization and auditing (AAA); Juniper Endpoint Defense Initiative APIs that ensure integration with best-of-breed endpoint security products; and a core security architecture that has been audited by leading third-party security experts, such as TruSecure Corporation, Cryptography Research, Inc., and has been certified by ICSA Labs.
