TRIFORMIX ANNOUNCES ACQUISITION OF JDS UNIPHASE’S MOLDED-OPTICS BUSINESS UNIT

August 4, 2004 - Triformix, Inc. a leading maker of precision-molded optical components for the communications, digital imaging, and instrumentation markets, announced it is acquiring the assets of the molded-optics business unit of JDS Uniphase for an undisclosed cash amount.  As a result of the acquisition, Triformix expects to strengthen its position in the precision-molded optics market with a broadened customer base, added technical capabilities and expanded capacity.

As part of the acquisition, all full-time JDS Uniphase molded-optics business unit employees will be offered jobs at Triformix. Triformix is a qualified supplier of optical components to JDS Uniphase.
